Today, we have the entire world in the palm of our hand, something which one could only imagine 30 years ago. And with the technological advancements taking place today, we know that innovations are not coming to a standstill anytime soon. Hence, there is no reason why we should put a halt to our imagination and not think about what could become of the world another 30 years from now.
I know that you believe that the future, 30 years down the line, is going to be technically wild with never-ending possibilities. However, we need some inventions to preserve humankind and quality of life, so that, there are people left to enjoy all that there is to tech, medicine, education, politics, economics, and more.
So, let’s read along to discover some significant inventions that the world will need in 2050.
1. Vaccinations and Cures for Many Undefeatable Diseases : –
Approximately, 1.5 million to 2 million people from across the world die due to the insuperable HIV virus. The doctors feel helpless about it now because there is no cure. However, reports suggest that within the next 20 years scientists will be able to, if not cure, prevent the spread of HIV.
This claim is supported by the evidence that scientists are making big strides in determining how the immune system reacts to the action of viruses. If they are able to decipher the virus’s anti-dote in the future, we will have vaccinations for diseases that can be caused by virus activity as well.
Apart from viral infections, scientists are also working on eradicating some life-threatening diseases such as malaria, dengue, and more. Also, they are working hard for determining the detailed reason for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease that cause more pain than partially curable diseases such as cancer.
Speaking of cancer, scientists are embarking upon new avenues to discover the cure for more of its types. Some are even trying to develop an immunizer that will enable the body to attack the cancer stem cells directly.
2. Human Brains will be able to Live Forever : –
Well, the above statement does sound a bit vague now. However, in the near future, as scientists are hoping, we will be able to store all our brain’s function into a computer. In this way, or mortal body may die, but by installing our brain into a robot, science can keep us alive.
Well, we are not assuming things out of the blue. It is Neuroscientist Randal Koene and Russian financial backer Dmitry Itskov who are in the process of developing a technique to transfer human consciousness and brain functions into an artificial being in the coming decade or three. Now that you think of it, having your brain function converted into code is kind of cool. Isn’t it?
The sole purpose behind transferring people’s consciousness into an artificial body is not only immortality; Keone wishes to achieve greater things through it. One such thing is allowing the brain to experience and explore places that a human body cannot – for instance, going closer to the sun.
While Keone and Itskov are involved in computerizing the existence of the brain and its function, the likes of Kenneth Hayworth of the Brain Preservation Foundation are working on ways in which the biological brain can be preserved for hundred years so that it can be used once a technology to bring it back to life is invented.
Even though immortality is a distant dream today, there are chances that the relentless efforts of scientists are able to preserve a part of each being by 2050.
3. Unimaginable Advancements in Artificial Intelligence : –
If you are of the opinion that the development of Artificial Intelligence is gradually leading to the decline of humans, you’re mistaken. We can say this because, even though jobs in certain sectors have been replaced by machines, the introduction of AI has led to an immense expansion in job opportunities.
Also, not only will the robots create more jobs, the advent of the ones that will be able to handle the entire business for you will allow you to relax and live. Then, not only will you be able to live a more social and balanced life, you can also tap on the market potential in a better way. The mass-produced robots, as stated by Hans Moravec of Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute, will act as cheap labor, specifically trained to perform the tasks you require them for.
If we go by AI researcher David Levy’s predictions, robots will not only provide support at work but there will be ones to look after your companionship needs as well. They will be able to connect with you on an intellectual and emotional level. Well, this is something that people are in dire need of today looking at the declining mental health charts.
4. Ability to Relay Exclusively on Renewable Energy : –
When we look at the above inventions, it is hard to find any use for them is we keep on polluting the environment the way we are now. Therefore, complete reliability on renewable sources of energy is something we need more than anything today. And, the good news is, if we promote the use of renewable sources of energy now, we can achieve as much as 80% reliability on clean energy in 30 years.
Well, as happy as the report makes us, it comes with a strict clause – if we want a clean earth, we will have to commit to the usage of renewable sources now!
A WWF report suggests that switching to more conventional and environment-friendly sources of energy would not affect the way we live a lot but will increase the life span of the human race by centuries.
To begin with, we can get our daily power supply from the sun and wind energy. With only 2% investment from the nation’s GDP going into climate change prevention, we can make lives better for ourselves as well as our future generations.
To conclude, the above inventions will supposedly make this world a better place to live in the future. However, there is one thing that we will have to work for now- a better environment. If that happens, we will be able to live fuller lives since health, immortality, and companionship are being taken care of by scientists.
